New Mission in Bessemer
From Hispanic Catalytic Missionary, Dr. Cary Hanks:
After 14 months of trials and tribulations the “Christ Our Hope Ministry Center” met for worship for the first time at the tire store in Bessemer. Forty five people attended, and some of them are new believers. A women’s Bible study had already been established in Woodward Mobile Estates for Spanish speaking ladies by Donna Harper and several women from Agape Hispanic Church in Hoover. Harry Harper had been working with the Hispanic men and already had a Bible study on Saturday mornings. Anne and I were there for that first service. It was a great day. The building was dedicated Sunday, July 24. This work is sponsored by Bessemer Association, Hunter Street Baptist Church, and FBC Springville.
Christ Our Hope Ministry Center is located at 2831 9th Avenue North, and led by Pastor Harry Harper.

MAYTOWN celebrated their 100th Anniversary on Sunday, August 14. The Special Guest Speaker was Governor Robert Bentley, a Baptist Deacon and Sunday School teacher who has been outspoken for the Gospel. Governor Bentley did not speak politically on that day, but only for the honor of the Lord Jesus. Dr. John Killian is pastor.

NORTH HIGHLANDS is hosting a "Bleed For Your Team" Blood Drive on October 9th from 1-6pm. Each donor will receive a free Alabama or Auburn Blood Donor T-shirt as a thank you gift, and the team with the most donors will be announced in their 6pm worship service.
North Highlands is located at 4851 15th Street Road in Hueytown, AL. Rev. Joe Kitchens is pastor.
