On Mission Celebration
On October 25-26 our Association welcomed missionaries from the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, State Missionaries, and Local Missionaries to the churches in our association. Missionaries spoke in the worship services of our churches on Sunday, October 25, and we all came together for the Annual Meeting of the Association on Monday, Ocober 26 at Tannehill Valley Baptist Church. We held a Mission Fair with many tables set up to display items from the regions and areas of ministry of the missionaries.
Sav-A-Life
The year long dream of Sav-A-Life Bessemer has become a reality as the completion nears for "The Garden of Hope" in Patterson-Forest Grove Memorial Cemetary in Pleasant Grove, AL. The "Hope Monument" by sculptor Beverly Paddleford was installed Saturday, April 18, and is the focal point of the garden. The bronze sculpture depicts Jesus cradling an infant as He holds the hand and talks with the young mother. This garden offers a place to grieve the loss of a child. Fundraising continues as Sav-A-Life works to raise the remaining $7,000 needed for the monument. The cemetary is located off 5th Avenue in Pleasant Grove. The Church at Ross Station
The Church at Ross Station recently participated in a mission project doing landscaping work and underskirting around a mobile home.
North Highlands
North Highlands has an ongoing ministry partnership with Woolmarket Baptist Church in Biloxi, Mississippi, in which they help people in that community rebuild their homes. A man from that area donated this van and trailer (first photo) to NHBC for use in this ministry.
